Calabria is a popular region often referred to as "terra da scoprire," or land to be discovered. One of the most popular towns you absolutely must visit while in the area is Tropea. A beautiful picturesque place that is often immortalized in photographs promoting Calabria. There you will find a beautiful beach, and above it a cliff on which the Santuario di Santa Maria dell'Isola di Tropea is located. The small fishing village of Via Chianalea is also worth a visit. For hiking and trekking enthusiasts, a visit to Aspromonte National Park is recommended. The Castle of Stilo, Scolacium Archaeological Park, and the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia are also worth a visit. Calabria is also a region famous for its beautiful beaches.
