Naples Airport (NAP) - access to the center and other destinations

Naples is an extremely popular destination for Polish tourists. It is a great option for a weekend City break. In addition to just visiting Naples, it will also be a great idea to visit nearby Pompeii, Vesuvius or Herculaneum. Flights to Naples are operated by Polish low-cost airlines Wizzair and Ryanair, and ticket prices are often just a few dozen zlotys. You can get to Naples airport by Ryanair from Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw. Wizzair offers cheap flights to Naples from Katowice and Warsaw. Naples airport is located very close to the city center, so getting there should not provide us with any problems. It is located about 7 km from the center of Naples. The airport itself is one of the largest airports in Italy and the largest in the Campania region.

There are two terminals at the airport (T1 and T2). The airport offers all the standard services - we can find stores, bars, restaurants, an exchange office, an ATM, a VIP area, etc. We can also take advantage of free Internet connection via a public Wi-Fi network.

How to get from the airport to the center of Naples?

The best commuting option will definitely be the bus. A more convenient option may be to take a cab. If you plan to visit the city itself and possibly nearby attractions like the Pompeii, Sorrento or Vesuvius, then by far the worst option will be car rental. In Naples there is an incredible problem with parking spaces, the city traffic itself is a "drama", and we can easily get everywhere by public transport and trains.

Access to the center by bus

We can easily get to the center of Naples from the airport by bus from the carrier. Alibus. The price for a single one-way ticket is 5€ and is important 90 minutes. The bus runs every day. The bus line looks as follows:

  • Aeroporto di Capodichino - airport
  • Piazza Garibaldi - train station and Naples' main transportation hub, right next to the center of the
  • Porta di Massa - port
  • Pier Angioino/Beverello - Stazione Marittima terminal

Driving time from Naples airport to the center (Garibaldi square) is about 15 minutes. It takes about 35 minutes to reach the port.

We can purchase an Alibus bus ticket directly at the airport, at traffic kiosks, vending machines, as well as from the driver. The ticket should be punched as soon as you board the bus!

Cab

We can also get to the centrium by cab. The fare is fixed and is 16€. However, it is worth making sure of the prices and giving the cab driver the destination address. The trip to the center by cab takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic.

Official cabs in Naples are white in color and have the word "TAXI" on the roof and visible license numbers.

How to get from Naples airport to Sorrento?

We can get to Sorrento from Naples airport by bus or train.

If you choose the former option, head from the airport to the bus departure points marked P1. A ticket for travel to Sorrento costs only 10€ (including large and small luggage). For additional luggage, you must pay additional 5€. The carrier is Curreri company. Tickets are available on the official website of the carrier here.

The bus trip from Naples airport to Sorrento takes about one hour and fifteen minutes. This is one of the cheapest options to get to the Amalfi Coast From the airport.

It may also be a good idea to travel by train. From the airport, take the Alibus bus, already described, to the main train station (5€). Then purchase a ticket to Sorrento by Circumvesuviana train. The cost of such a ticket is 3.60€.

A cab trip from the airport will cost us approx. 100€

How to get from Naples airport to Positano?

To Positano From the airport you will get by bus. Unfortunately, there is no direct connection between the airport and Positano.

If you choose the bus, you should first go to Sorrento by bus carrier Curreri (10€). When you reach Sorrento, you will need to change to a bus carrier SITA to Positano. the cost of such a ticket is only 2€. Note that this ticket will not be bought from the driver, so it should be purchased at the kiosk before boarding the bus.

The cost of a cab to Positano from the airport is approx. 100€.

    For the record - currently /September 2022/ a licensed cab ride from the airport/we went to Molo Angioino/.costs 30 euros.We rode in 3 people.

    If one has some time and does not necessarily need to go to Garibaldi Square, then 8 minutes from the airport from the stop Maddalena Aeroporto Civile there is a bus 182 ( more or less in the direction of via Feria ). Tickets - 1, 20 euros - you have to buy at the airport because there is nowhere near the bus stop. It suits us better because of the finish line.
